| Drug Card Facts Q: Is there a membership fee or an application form required to qualify for the Drug Card Plus free drug card? A: No. Our drug card is free and there is no application form or questionnaire - all you need to do is print the page or write down the codes that are in bold print at center page - your 10 digit phone number will serve as your ID when your pharmacy processes your prescription discount. Some people even have the codes printed on the back of their business cards to encourage their customers to retain their business card and as a perk to customers. Q: Are there any eligibility requirements? A: No. Everyone qualifies to use this free drug card and receive savings on covered prescriptions at any of our 60,000 participating pharmacies. Nearly all pharmacies accept our card. Q: How does the drug card work? A: Simply present the drug card codes, your telephone number (as your ID) and your prescription to the pharmacist at any of our participating pharmacies to receive a point -of-sale discount on thousands of covered brand name and generic prescriptions. Q: Will I get billed for a co-pay or something? A: Since this is not insurance, there is no co-pay or deductible. Discounts are given at the point of sale. You will pay only the discounted price for your prescription drugs. If you have prescription drug insurance with a co-pay you may not benefit from Drug Card Plus unless your specific medicine is not covered by your insurance program. Always present your Drug Card Plus codes to your pharmacist. Your pharmacist will give you the best price available whether it be with our drug card or your own insurance. Q: How does the pharmacy know what discounted price to charge? A: The pharmacist enters our group identifying codes into his computer. The discounted price, which has been negotiated for us by our PBA, is shown for your specific medication. Q: What is a PBA? A: A PBA or PBM is a Pharmacy Benefits Administrator or Pharmacy Benefits Manager that is a third party administrator of prescription drug card discount programs. They are primarily responsible for processing prescription drug insurance claims. They are also responsible for developing and maintaining the formulary, contracting with pharmacies and negotiating prescription drug discounts and rebates with drug manufacturers. Due to there large purchasing pool for prescription drugs, PBAs and PBMs can negotiate discounts for their clients. By presenting the Drug Card Plus drug card codes to your pharmacist you are authorizing him to offer you the discounted prices negotiated with his pharmacy. Discount contracts can vary by pharmacy so we suggest you price your prescription at more than one pharmacy in order to receive the best price available using our drug card. Q: Is this discount drug card health insurance? A: No. This drug card is not insurance. Our card merely offers the consumer prescription savings. Q: Can I distribute Drug Card Plus drug cards to my employees and their family members and friends? A: Certainly! There are no eligibility requirements; anyone can use our discount prescription drug card. Print as many as you like for employees and friends. Email us for bulk quantities of wallet-sized cards. Q: What if I already have health insurance coverage? Can Drug Card Plus help me? A: If you are currently paying a co-pay you may not benefit, unless you have medications that are not covered by your health insurance program. However, if you are subject to a deductible, our free drug card can save you money. Additionally, if you are on Medicare and do not have Part D coverage or have a coverage gap (aka donut hole) or have medications not covered by Medicare(Viagra for example), our drug card can help you. Q: What’s in it for the pharmacy? A: Our drug card generates goodwill for the participating pharmacy. In addition, if they do not participate their customers may go somewhere else to a pharmacy that does. They are already giving some customers, those with insurance, the negotiated discounts anyway. Most pharmacies will accept your drug card. If you find one that doesn't, please ask the druggist to call the toll free Pharmacy Helpline 800-248-1062.
